Today’s game is about being a well-rounded player. Part of that is being able to control the puck with a high level of skill that will set you apart from others. Iconic Hockey specializes in being able to help you take your puck control to another level. Our Total Puck Control Program is designed to develop each players skill through a progressive method of development. Each session builds on the previous one using the same basic techniques and making them more challenging. As the player moves through each session, their puck control skills will show very significant improvement at the end. There are two ways that our Total Puck Control Program can be integrated into your teams skill development plan. First as part of your existing practice schedule or as a separate practice session you can use with your extra team ice for skill development. Both ways are equally effective but this allows us to work within the parameters of your plan for your existing ice-time.
Our Total Puck Control Program rates are based on a 1 hour (50 minute Practice or Ice Session). If you wish for us to participate in a longer practice session we can provide a custom fee structure for whatever fits into your development program. All rates exclude the cost of ice which your team can purchase or we can source and obtain for you. Obviously teams and associations can use ice already allocated for development and/or team practices.

No matter what level of player is involved, every development program has to have a development strategy or progress plan. This one is no different. In the first phase of development players will go back to the basic of puck control using drill designed to help perfect the basics of stick and body movement before working gradually into more complex quick hand and agility movements. This phase structure applies to implementing the program with a Team, Small Group or Individuals.
Phase 1 – Back To Basics
Players will learn fundamental stick handling skills like wide cradling, quick hands, body control & shifting.
Phase 2 – Agility, Turning & Control
During this phase players will be performing drills that involve a lot of edges, turning, pivoting while still maintaining positional awareness and puck control
Phase 3 – High Tempo
During this phase players will be pushed to the limits of their puck control ability. Combining all aspects of what has been learned in phases 1 & 2…this drills become more complicated. Players will be expected to increase their pace and drills will involve passing and receiving passes.
